Fort Wayne Region Solo School and Points Event #1

Solo School:

Explanation:

The Fort Wayne Region Solo School is geared towards novice drivers who want to learn about autocross and drivers looking to gain more experience. Registration for the event begins at 8:00 a.m. After registration there will be time to meet fellow drivers and get to know some of the instructors. The classroom session starts at 9:00am with an introduction from the Solo Director and a brief session over the basics of Autocross. After the morning classroom session we'll head outside for a brief introduction to the course and get a couple of runs in with an in-car coach before breaking for lunch. During the lunch classroom session we will discuss some basics of car control and how certain parts of the car interact with each other during racing. After the lunch classroom session we will head back out to the course and apply what we've learned so far. The coaches will guide from the passenger’s seat, but the student has the option to let the coach drive their car to learn. After the driving session we will debrief and discuss what to expect at a Fort Wayne Region points event. The lunch for the Solo School will be provided - details of the lunch will be announced at a later date.

9:15AM to 9:45AM: What you'll need to know
10:00AM to 11:30AM: Intro to Autocross (Take the course)
11:45PM to 1:00PM: LUNCH* Understanding your car
1:30PM to 4:30PM: Apply what you've learned
4:30PM to 5:00PM: Debrief and clean up

*Lunch provided by FWR - Meal TBD

Solo School Only Cost (Lunch Included): $50*

*Non-SCCA members must sign up for a weekend membership at a cost of $15 for the weekend. Non-SCCA members cannot complete registration without purchasing a weekend membership. You will be prompted for a weekend membership during your online registration.

7:45 - 8:45: Registration
8:00 - 9:00: Tech open
8:00 - 9:15: Course open to walk*
9:00 - 9:15:  Novice Walk
9:15 - 9:30: Mandatory drivers meeting
10:00: First car on course

*Course will be open to walking once the safety stewards clear and verify the course.
**Schedule is subject to change - weather dependent.

Points Event #1 (Sunday only): $45*

*Non-SCCA members must sign up for a Weekend Membership at a cost of $15 for the weekend. Non-SCCA members cannot complete registration without purchasing a weekend membership. You will be prompted for a weekend membership during your online registration. 

By pre-registering and paying for Points Event #1 on Motorsportsreg.com you will receive a $8 discount. All payments will be processed when registration closes. 

Pre-Register for both the Solo School and Points Event #1 and receive a $20 discount on the weekend for a total of $67.*

All participants must sign the SCCA insurance waiver and have a valid driver's license to compete. If the driver is under 18, they must have a minor waiver signed by both parents – contact FWSCCA for details. Events run rain or shine. All event payments will be processed when registration closes.
